These issues with the Swoop Race in KOTOR 2 (always forfeiting, bike up in mid-air) have been corrected in the update available for Knights of the Old Republic II, currently available via the Auto-updater function in the game, or by download from How do I enable the console? It tells me I forfeited even though I won, or the Swoop bike is up in the air when I start the race with no way to get back down. There is no way to switch the perspective in the game.
